Building Community Through the World’s Game

Soccer holds a special place in the heart of Zambia. It is more than a sport — it is a shared language that brings children, families, and entire communities together. Through our early soccer tournaments and outreach efforts, we have seen firsthand the powerful impact the game can have on confidence, unity, and hope. This page represents an expanding area of ministry for Come Go With Us. While the program is still under development, the vision is clear: to create safe, positive soccer opportunities that encourage teamwork, discipline, character, and service — on and off the field.

In many communities, organized sports opportunities are limited, yet enthusiasm for soccer is immense. When we host tournaments or matches, children show up early, families gather on the sidelines, and communities engage in ways that open doors for deeper connection and ministry. Soccer creates a natural environment for mentorship, encouragement, and meaningful relationships.

As this ministry grows, our goal is to host recurring youth and community soccer tournaments, provide structured play that emphasizes sportsmanship and character, create opportunities for mentorship and life skills development, and use sports as a bridge to serve families and communities more holistically. We believe sports can be a powerful tool for service — not as an end in itself, but as a doorway to connection, encouragement, and lasting impact.

This initiative will eventually create opportunities for coaches and mentors, volunteers and organizers, interns with a heart for youth and sports, and partners who believe in the power of sports-based outreach. Details will be added as the program develops.

We are currently laying the groundwork, listening to local leaders, and shaping this program with intention and care. Please check back soon for updates, opportunities to get involved, and stories from the field. Sometimes the simplest things — a ball, a field, and a shared love for the game — can open the door to something much bigger.
