Columbia International University
For a second year, Columbia International University brought their Jr. and Sr, nursing students and faculty to experience the roles of nurses and physicians in a 3rd world context. They were a joy to work with and we look forward to further trips in the future. They took full advantage of all the cultural experiences – including tasting a local delicacy, the deep-fried Mupani Caterpillar…for which they were awarded a nice certificate.
A significant amount of medicines and medical equipment was donated by this team to be distributed to area clinics and medical facilities. While their trip was short compared to other teams, they accomplished much in the way of assisting CGWU in its ministries’ efforts. They were very efficient.
They helped our other ministry works and enjoyed an evening learning about Zambian culture. In addition, they visited and toured Zimba Clinic – a medium-sized area clinic that sees many of the locals in the Southern Province.
Mineral Springs Baptist Church
Long-time supporters, Mineral Springs Baptist Church, spent 14 days fully emerging themselves deeply into the CGWU ministry work-load. As a major supporter of Kabondo Baptist Church, they preached and taught a Sunday service to the people who were very thankful for their visit. They also spent time with the Old People’s Home, Ebenezer Children’s Home, and assisted in a Pastor’s Conference in Njabalombe. With youth sports a major effort of CGWU, MSBC grabbed the reins of a Football (Soccer) tournament in the bush that lead to 60 boys coming to salvation in Jesus Christ. Jason Gault, Dion Minter, and Dennis Yeattes made repeat visits and lead the team to accomplish a tremendous amount of ministry in conjunction with CGWU staff and ministry leaders.
INTERNS
Interns Erynn Byrom and Kelly Furlong spent a few weeks with us…
Kelly: applying his mechanical skills to our fleet of vehicles and generators
Erryn: continuing to serve alongside of visiting teams and working with Tayler Meyers as they both provided significant aid to the work of CGWU.
The Ledbetter family visited CGWU and blessed all of us!
Friends of CGWU supporters came to Zambia for a family vacation. They took advantage of all the “fun stuff” – Safari, Victoria Falls, and they went on a Safari hunt. As a token of their appreciation for our hospitality, they offered some “mighty fine” game meat to distribute to our ministry partners, our staff, and to the team visiting at that same time….”and it was sooo tasty”!
THEN, they wanted to see what we do. So, we took them to the Good News Club and to the bush to see how the Zambians live and worship. We all very much appreciate their gifts and their newfound love for the ministry of CGWU in Zambia.
Interns do a BUSH TRIP!
These girls ROCK! Erynn, Tayler and Bertha initiated a Bush Trip to Kabuyu to minister to children for a day. They managed the trip by themselves to make a huge impact on about 100 children in Kabuyu village.
Dennis Reed
Dennis Reed visited from South Carolina while on an unrelated trip to Zambia…just to visit with us and see what we do. We thank Dennis Santa for thinking of us.
SPOTLIGHT: Bernard Milupi
Bernard came to us a couple of years ago and has been a joy to be around every single day. This easy-going gentleman is quiet but tenderly devoted to Ma, Pa, and all of CGWU. He lives on the property and serves as a general worker and alternate night-time security. Pray for Bernard – he has a bright future!
