Their story

A New Chapter of Faithful Service

Dion and Jessica Minter are from the Roanoke, Virginia, area. Married for more than 23 years, they have two young adult children, Nathaniel and Isabella.

Both came to faith in Jesus Christ as adults—Jessica during her freshman year of college, and Dion in his early thirties. Over the years, they have faithfully served through their local church and Christian school ministry.

They are active members of Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Vinton, Virginia. Now they believe the Lord is leading them into a new season of ministry in Zambia, Africa.

Why Zambia?

From Short-Term Visits to a Longer Commitment

Dion and Jessica first traveled to Zambia in 2022 on a short-term mission trip with Come Go With Us. On that trip and subsequent visits, they witnessed firsthand the work God is doing through local believers, pastors, and ministry partners.

Those experiences helped shape their desire to serve more deeply: to make disciples of Jesus Christ and see His church in Zambia flourish.

How they will serve

Working Alongside the CGWU Team

Beginning in spring 2027, the Minters plan to serve alongside the Come Go With Us team, bringing their experience, training, and hearts for discipleship to the work already underway.

01 / PASTOR TRAINING

Equipping Church Leaders

Dion will help train pastors, especially those without access to formal seminary education, and strengthen churches through biblical teaching.

02 / DISCIPLESHIP & OUTREACH

Sharing the Gospel

They will participate in evangelism, teaching, and discipleship, supporting believers and communities as the Gospel is proclaimed.

03 / PRACTICAL SUPPORT

Serving People & Teams

Together they will assist with administration, Christian counseling, and visiting mission teams, supporting the ministry's daily work.

Prepared to serve

Experience and Training for the Work Ahead

Dion is an engineer with bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech. He also earned a Master of Arts in Church Revitalization from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jessica serves as an administrator at Mineral Springs Christian School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Virginia Tech and a Master of Arts in Human Services with a concentration in Biblical Counseling from Regent University.

They hope to use both their professional skills and their ministry experience to encourage Zambian churches and support the work of CGWU.
